Can I play Guitar Hero World Tour on my Wii with the guitar from Guitar Hero?

Author: I wanted to know if I could use the guitar controller from Guitar Hero 3: Legends of Rock to play Guitar Hero: World Tour. I'm playing it on the Wii. Thanks.
