Guitar Hero World Tour

I used to have guitar hero world tour but reterned it for rock band 2. i am now realizing that world tour was better in my opinion and want to know if you can play guitar hero smash hits or metallica or guitar hero 5 with rock band instruments. i have played the demo’s for guitar hero metallica and guitar hero smash hits with the rock band instruments and it has worked, but i want to know if i buy the game will it still work. and i would like to know if the rock band 2 instruments will work for up coming guitar hero game "guitar hero 5". i have an xbox 360.
