How come on DJ Hero, whenever i scratch it resets the combo meter?

Author: I have DJ Hero for the Xbox 360 and realised that whenever there is a scratch and i hit it perfect on, it resets the combo meter, then i realised that it disrupts the other two coloured lines somehow. This doesnt happen all the time but it is very annoying when know that i have done it right. I have tried scratching it faster and slower and higher/lower on the deck but i figured it is random, unless someone has a solution to the problem?

Well you probally just holding the scratch to long release the button a little bit before the end of the note insteed of at the end of it.

I have the same exact problem! And I tried slower/faster and higher up and lower and nothing works! Haha Ima look back at this question later to see if you get an answer.
