Guitar Hero World Tour

Other than keeping your middle finger on the yellow, scooting your index finger to the green rather than scooting my pinky to the orange & play the harder modes, do you guys have any more tips to get better at guitar hero 2?

My main problem his hitting the blue note. I barely hit the not when it comes by.
