I fix a Guitar Hero drum kit that over hits on its own?

Author: I was playing Guitar Hero Smash Hits on drums. I got through the first few songs fine, but around the sixth or seventh song that I played today, I started missing notes for no reason, and noticed that my red pad was triggering itself. Is there a way to fix this? My drum set is past warranty I think.

I had a problem like this with my cymbal, it triggered 3 times per hit, erm the chip is probably slightly faulty, the common cause is hard hitting, i think you may have to buy a new pad set.
