What is needed to hook up guitar hero, or rockband wireless guitar?

Author: If I picked up a used guitar that's wireless for rockband or guitar hero, what
else do I need to hook it up? Is a dongle needed?
Please answer, it'd be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

If its for Xbox all you need is 2 AA batteries to power the guitar. The guitar is synced to your system by hitting a little button that looks like ))) on your guitar and console, and the 2 will sync to one of the lights. For PS3/Wii I am sure its similar, but I don't have these systems.
