I have not personally played GHWT but I played rockband 1 + 2 all the way through. I have read that GHWT doesn’t compare to rockband 1 even. The setup to get band mates in is clunky, the response for ‘recording’ your songs is delayed up to a second so you have to go into the lab mixer and redo everything that was off, also there is no voice input at all for creating personal songs, also read that it is very hard to figure out when a band mate is failing. Positives though, I heard that it is a bit more fun because it gives you slightly larger window to hit the buttons than rockband, some people say the songs are better, and also the instruments are better. If you had to choose between them I would personally say go with Rockband 2, and you will have more fun.
